In January-November 2017, seaports of Russia handled 716.7 mln t of cargo (up 9%, year-on-year), says press center of the Association of Commercial Sea Ports.
Transshipment of dry cargo totaled 339.3 mln t (+10.6%) including 141.1 mln t of coal (+13.3%), 43.8 mln t of containerized cargo (+12.6%), 43.0 mln t of grain (+33.4%), 25.5 mln t of ferrous metal (-1.6%), 15.9 mln t of mineral fertilizers (+9.7%) and 2.8 mln t of refrigerated cargo (+0.5%). Russia Mulls Easing Visa Requirements as Chinese Tourist Numbers Grow
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev is currently in China after getting invited by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, in part prompted by a 35 percent increase in Russia-Chinese trade volume this year. Medvedev also took the opportunity to point out that cultural exchanges between the two countries are intensifying, with 1.2 million Chinese tourists visiting Russia in 2016, and year-to-date figures in 2017 already showing a 20 percent boost on last year’s figures.
