Employee of Russian military stole state secret info to sell it to foreign state, now he convicted for espionage

According to the investigation, the man worked at one of the enterprises of the military-industrial complex. He stole state secret information, and leaked it to a representative of a foreign state for cash indemnity.⁠

The Khabarovsk Regional Court sentenced a local resident, accused of espionage at one of the enterprises of the defense industry complex (Article 275 of the Criminal Code), to 4.5 years of imprisonment, Interfax reports with reference to the regional FSB department.

The court found the 26-year-old man guilty of High Treason in the form of espionage (Article 275 of the Criminal Code). The defendant fully admitted his guilt.

According to the investigation, the man worked at one of the enterprises of the military-industrial complex. He stole state secret information, and leaked it to a representative of a foreign state for cash indemnity. The FSB does not specify the foreign state in favor of which secret information was stolen.
