The command of the Far Eastern Federal University (Palo) became the winner of the international competition among autonomous units RoboSub-2015, which ended in San Diego (USA). Robotics FEFU managed to easily reach the final, ahead of more than 30 teams of the leading technical universities in China, Japan, India, Canada, Sweden, Turkey, Thailand, Egypt, Pakistan and the United States. In the final round, met the Russian, US and Singaporean robotics, and won by the students of the University of San Diego (California, USA). FEFU finished sixth prize, informs «Pacific Russia».

The team entered the Far Eastern Federal University students, undergraduates and postgraduates of the School of Engineering and the School of Natural Sciences. All of them — winners of international competitions in remote controlled and autonomous underwater robots. He led the team head of the laboratory unmanned underwater vehicles and their systems School of Engineering, Professor Alexander Sherbatyuk.

On RoboSub-2015 FEFU introduced new underwater robot, specially designed and built for the competition. By its creation, students began in March this year — once to return to the open championship of Asia, where they took second place. In the modeling and assembly of the 35-pound device it took about four months.

The last few weeks before the race team spent in the pool on campus. Russian, which is almost around the clock were testing the robot in the real world and development of specific underwater tasks.

Student World Championships in underwater robotics RoboSub held annually at the Centre for Space and Naval Systems USA (Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center).
