
Five Russian citizens awarded the Japanese Order of the Rising Sun of different degrees. The award was received by the director of the All-Union State Library of Foreign Literature Ekaterina geniuses chief conductor of the Academic Symphonic Orchestra of the St. Petersburg State Philharmonic, Yuri Temirkanov, professor at the Institute of Asian and African Studies of Moscow State University Lyudmila Nechayev, atomic scientist Larion Lebedev, the diplomat Alexander, informs «Pacific Russia».
On April 29 in Japan, celebrated the feast of the Showa — the birthday of former Emperor Hirohito. Showa — Emperor’s throne name, translated means «enlightened world».
On this day, it was allowed free access to the Imperial Palace. Holiday Showa opened the so-called «golden week» — a series of public holidays and weekends in the Japanese calendar.
The Order of the Rising Sun was established in 1875, it has eight degrees. Over the period of its awards we received not more than 50 Russian citizens — mostly of science and art.
