Крупнейший в мире учебный парусник «Седов» сегодня, 18 сентября, зашёл в самый северный город России. В порту Певека барк пришвартовался в 11 часов утра по местному времени. Парусник совершает уникальное трёхмесячное плавание из Владивостока в Калининград по Северному морскому пути, информирует «Тихоокеанская Россия».
В Певеке экипаж судна и курсантов встретили хлебом и солью, угостили национальными блюдами – чукотскими лепешками, олениной и местной рыбой – гольцом. Также для гостей подготовили культурную программу с чукотскими песнями и танцами.
- Красивейшее зрелище и уникальное по своей сути событие. Последний раз парусное судно прошло по Северному морскому пути в 1879 году. Конечно, мы пригласили «Седова» зайти в порты Чукотки! — прокомментировал это событие губернатор Роман Копин.
Первым портом захода барка на Чукотке стал Эгвекинот, туда барк прибыл 10 сентября, а на следующий день он взял курс на самый северный город России.
Из-за эпидемиологической обстановки выход в город гостей и экскурсию для местных жителей на судно пришлось отменить. Сейчас парусник заправляется топливом, а завтра продолжит свой маршрут на запад. Этим «Седов» завершит не только экспедицию «Северный морской путь», но и кругосветное плавание с участием парусников «Паллада» и «Крузенштерн» в честь 200-летия открытия Антарктиды, а также 75-летия Победы.
