Russian authorities have offered the company Daewoo International Corporation to produce cars in Primorsky Krai

The vice-governor of Primorye Territory Sergey Nekhaev proposed company Daewoo International Corporation, together with their South Korean partners produce cars as a resident of the Free Port of Vladivostok. The deputy head of the region during the bilateral meeting introduced the guests from the Republic of Korea, the benefits of doing business in Primorye, informs «Pacific Russia».

Foreign delegation headed by the general manager of Daewoo International Corporation Pak Kwan Ying. The delegation also included representatives of the Vladivostok branch of the company.

Welcoming the guests, Sergei Nekhaev noted that the working conditions of foreign investors in Primorye have improved significantly with the adoption of laws on the free port of Vladivostok and territories of priority development.
«When developed the concept of the law on free port, it was decided to make the law framework. That is, to supplement and improve it, we can through the adoption of regulations. This allows you to quickly change the law, taking into account modern trends. For example, the Supervisory Board has received a number of suggestions how to create regulations that are already existing companies to become residents of Freeport. If this process demanded changes to the law, this procedure would be much harder and longer», — said the deputy head of the region.

Pak Kwan Ying said that the company is exploring opportunities to work in the Far East of Russia, including in the free port of Vladivostok.

«We have projects to produce cars that are well developed in the European part of Russia, but it is not working in the Far East. We are familiar with the plans of development of the Far East, which state leaders at various levels. And, according to our estimates, the project of auto industry can be very promising. We want to get detailed information on the benefits of working in Primorye for foreign business «, — he stressed the head of the foreign delegation.

Sergei Nekhaev said that the establishment of the region competitive business environment, including foreign — an absolute trend, sounded including in the annual address of the President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the Federal Assembly.

«We believe that the law on the free port of Vladivostok formed a good tool, which allows us to adjust to global trends. From next year, all the provisions of the instrument will work in full force. And in the subsequent setting up of the legislation, we will necessarily consider proposals of investors «, — said vice-governor.

Group CEO «Sumotori» Vitaly Verkeenko noted that the company’s management to seriously think about the production of vehicles with the adoption of the law on the free port of Vladivostok.

«Together with the investment agency of the Primorsky Territory, we have already started negotiations with Daewoo International Corporation on the establishment of a branch in Primorye and work under the regime of the Free Port of Vladivostok. It is necessary to explore all possibilities of obtaining benefits and preferences for customs duties. After all, customs duties are the most important item of expenditure of the company. We count on the support of the Administration of Primorsky Territory in the creation of a production project. And rest assured that all political and economic conditions for foreign investors will be established», — he said.

Sergei Nekhaev confirmed the support for the project from the leadership of the region.

«I acknowledge the support of the project by the Administration of Primorye. Recently, we have seen a tendency to change the active fleet in the markets of the Far East and, of course, are interested in the creation of new auto industry that would come to the markets in other regions. A more steppe it concerns new types of freight transport, taking into account transport and logistics opportunities in the region. Today, we are working hard to create transport corridors Primorye Primorye-1 and-2, to discuss the project of the Great Silk Road.
