New article by Doctor of History, Director of the Institute of History, Archeology and Ethnography of the Peoples of the Far East, Far Eastern Federal University professor Victor Larin, «Do not lose direction» (a geopolitical coordinates East policy of Russia) published on the portal «National Interest», informs «Pacific Russia».

In the last decade and a half, «eastern vector» occupies an important place in the foreign and domestic policies of the Kremlin. Integration in the Pacific Rim, «turning to the East» and the socio-economic development of the Far East and Trans-Baikal always, albeit in different variations, are mentioned in the list of the main tasks of the Russian state.

Parallel to this, the political and economic thought of East and West is actively working to develop suitable models of regional integration and security for North-East and East Asia and the Asia-Pacific region. Specific results in all cases are minimal: the virtual elegant design does not work, integration projects stalled and broken roads on the way to a «bright future» is greater than the direct routes.
