Secure legally twinning links between Vladivostok and Haiphong and to study in detail the question of participation of Vietnamese businesses in the development of territories of priority development in the Primorye Territory proposed to participants of the international scientific-practical conference «Vietnam: the problem of civilizational choice ‘in the Far Eastern Federal University, informs «Pacific Russia».

Scientists, diplomats, business representatives discussed the relations between the two countries at the present stage, as well as culture, history and economy of the republic, which this year celebrates its 70th anniversary.

The Conference was held in the Far Eastern Federal University in three sections — «Politics and Economics», «History, culture and education», «Literature and Linguistics» and to participate in it was filed more than 40 scientific papers from representatives of universities of the Far East, Moscow and Vietnam. Together with students and scientists at the conference was attended by the Consul General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Vladivostok Tran Duy Thi, a representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Andrei Brovarets, teachers and school staff of the Far Eastern Federal University.

The result of the scientific forum became a collection of materials included in the «Russian Science Citation Index» and its accompanying resolution, which the participants drew attention to the need for further study of Vietnam, its history, economy, politics, culture and language in order to develop more effective approaches to interoperability Strategic partners at the regional level.

Proposed seriously study the issue of embedding the economy of Primorsky Krai and Vietnam in the program of development of territories of priority development, especially with regard to giving the status of the free port of Vladivostok. In addition, participants drew attention to the long overdue need for a legal consolidation of sister city relations between Vladivostok and Haiphong, existing between the two port cities de facto since 1971.

In the Far Eastern Federal University pays great attention to developing friendly relations with the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The language and culture of the country study at the Department of Asia Pacific since 2000, the university opened «Vietnamese cultural and educational center.» Thanks to the numerous activities and educational work of Primorye residents get acquainted with the Vietnamese culture, a new development receive economic, educational, scientific and technical contacts.

A number of universities in Vietnam are permanent partners of the Federal University in student exchanges, internships, events.

Head of the center coordinating projects with Vietnam Maritime University AV Chmyr presented to the participants of the conference of Vietnamese students who have prepared for the significant date of Vietnam the second issue of the magazine «Those who chose the sea.» Good Russian students introduced themselves and gave copies to the Director of the magazine «Vietnamese cultural and educational center» FEFU AY Sokolovsky and associate professor of Moscow State University of Design and Technology GI Gadzhimuradova.

Past scientific conference has become one of the activities of the Month of Vietnam in Vladivostok, which is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the 70th anniversary of Vietnam’s independence, the 65th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Vietnam, the 40th anniversary of the liberation of South Vietnam and the 125th anniversary of the birth of Ho Chi Minh.
