
The Governor of the Primorsky Territory Vladimir Miklushevskiy today, March 17, conducted a working meeting with Kim Jong Kwan, the Vice-President of the Korean International Trade Association (KITA), информирует «Тихоокеанская Россия», ТоРосс.
Theme for discussion was development of the bilateral cooperation between Primorye and the Republic of Korea. The Head of the region indicated several actual, in his opinion, directions. In particular he paid attention to the decision to open a branch of the Investment Agency of the Primorsky Territory is Seoul.
“Now we prepare all necessary documentation for the branch accreditation. And there is no doubts that we hope for KITA’s help to our representative in establishing of contacts and widening of foreign trade ties between Primorye and the Republic of Korea” the Governor denoted.
Vladimir Miklushevskiy told that the second important direction in cooperation is attraction of investment from Korean business to Primorye and conjoined growth of touristic flow in both directions. According to him, the sites for investor’s entrance to the territory of the region may be five territories of advanced economic growth, one of them – the TAEG “Nadezhdinskiy” is adopted by the Government. The sixth territory may become shipbuilding complex “Zvezda” in Bolshoy Kamen’.
The Head of the region also accented the attention of Korean party to the perspectives of free-port creation which will include all south of Primorye and of the special of economic zone “Sollers”.
“Even today “Sollers” carry out large-scaled car assembling production of Ssang Yong, Mazda and Toyota automobiles. The task of the SEZ is to create workshops where on the rental basis will placed production of automobile part, motor components and electronics. We invite our South Korean partners who today show activity in this direction to become residents of the zone” – the Governor addressed a meeting.
The Vice-President of KITA showed an interest to development of TAEGs and SEZ in Primorye.
“Processes happening today in the region show the big desire to develop the region. I think that together we will achieve significant success in this direction. We are interested in TAEGs development and SEZ, so we are ready to render assistance, including inspiring of our businessmen for active participating in these projects” – he told.
Vladimir Miklushevskiy also noted that on the basis of the FEFU tech park is planned to create production facilities for small and medium business and at the same time office space where start-ups could find a place, start their business and replicate it in other sites. According to Vladimir Miklushevskiy, ideas of Russian scientists, postgraduate students and students could be united with the experience of South Korea in implementation of such projects.
Kim Jong Kwan expressed readiness to provide support to the tech park on the Russkiy Island.
“In Korea, in every province, in every big city exists tech park, where scientific and technical cooperation is carrying out. I can say that tech parks played the big role in the development of territories. We are ready to share this experience” – he stressed.
