Seven Far Eastern leopards were named. This was told at a press conference in the office of the National Park «Land of Leopard» in Vladivostok, the official website of the reserve. The right to come up with nicknames for predators got winners «Guardian leopard.» Animals named Roso, Grace, Reporter, Hasan, Cleopatra, Alex and Basil. They all live on the reserve, and there have been recorded established photo-traps, and then each animal was assigned an alphanumeric code that, informs «Pacific Russia».

The contest «Keeper Leopard» was attended by about 200 people by occupation or interests relevant to the conservation of the Amur leopard population, and to provide relevant projects. Their applications were evaluated by representatives of the «Land of the Leopard» and activists of environmental organizations, to determine the winner.

Previously, the choice of names for those living in the reserve of leopards produced its employees based on the suggestions of participants of open competition «Think of the name of a leopard!». Option, recognized as the most successful, the outcome was selected by drawing lots.

The Far Eastern leopard is considered the most rare species of large cats in the world. In 2014, the National Park «Land of Leopard» photo-traps filmed 57 of these animals. A year earlier, their number was estimated at 48 individuals.
