This year in Primorye will be continued cooperation with the regional administrations of North-East Asia countries in ecology. This information was received from the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of the Primorsky Territory, informs «Pacific Russia»..

Last year there was implemented a number of joint ecological projects. For example, in the framework of the international research on the Sea of Japan coastal pollution by the human-origin maritime wastes there were carried out environmental campaigns in 16 coastal areas, about 500 people took part in it. A coastal area of more than 4 thousand square meters was scanned and cleared of rubbish.

A delegation from Primorye which includes students and teaching staff took part in the international ecological symposium which was held in the Liaoning province (the PRC). And the specialists of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment together with the representatives of the Marine Biology Institute of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Science participated in two working meeting in Japan. It was devoted to preparations for a new project implementation on study of marine organisms in the framework of ecological sub-commission of the Associations of North-East Asia Countries Regional Administrations.

Also the Department provide assistance to the public organization «Amur-Ussuriisk Center of Avifauna Biological Diversity» in organization of a visit to the Primorsky Territory Japanese delegation from the Toyama Branch of the Japanese Society for Avifauna Protection.

In addition to that, the representatives of the Department took part in the session of the Council on Environment Security in the framework of the 19th Summit on International Exchange and Cooperation of the regional Administrations of North-East Asia countries which was held in Mongolia.
