Сервис «Яндекс.Переводчик» при содействии Национальной библиотеки Якутии начал переводить якутский язык на 98 языков и обратно. Сервис доступен на сайте и в мобильном приложении, сообщили ТАСС в пресс-службе «Яндекса», информирует «Тихоокеанская Россия».
Событие произошло накануне Дня республики, который отмечается ежегодно 27 апреля. В этот день произошли сразу два знаковых события в общественной и политической жизни региона. В 1922 году была образована Якутская Автономная Советская Социалистическая Республика (ЯАССР) в составе СССР. 70 лет спустя, в 1992 году, вступила в силу новая конституция республики, которая определила статус Якутии как субъекта Российской Федерации.
«По данным переписи населения 2010 года, якутским языком владеют более 450 тыс. человек, проживающих в основном на территории Якутии. Теперь люди, которые говорят и пишут на якутском, могут использовать переводчик для чтения текстов на иностранном языке», — рассказали в компании.
По словам главы Якутии Айсена Николаева, цифровизация культурного наследия коренных народов Арктики имеет жизненно важное значение для сохранения культурной самобытности народов. «Потенциал Национальной библиотеки Якутии позволяет сегодня создать центр цифровизации языкового и культурного наследия народов Якутии для формирования единого пространства знаний на основе оцифрованных текстовых, аудиовизуальных, архивных, музейных артефактов, собранных в единую цифровую платформу», — отметил Николаев.
Сохранить культурное наследие
Как считает научный сотрудник Национальной библиотеки Якутии, инициатор поддержки якутского языка в машинных переводчиках Алексей Иванов, машинные переводчики — один из важных инструментов по сохранению исчезающих языков. «Качество машинного перевода для якутского языка уже приближается к человеческому, но еще требует совершенствования. По моему мнению, компания «Яндекс» является единственной компанией в мире, которая ведет работу по сохранению языков народов России с помощью машинного перевода», — рассказал Иванов.
Он отметил, что, как и для многих других языков народов России, для якутского языка существует мало параллельных текстов, необходимых для обучения машинного переводчика. В Якутии команде «Яндекса» помогли энтузиасты, которые собрали около 50 тысяч фраз на якутском и их переводы на русский. «Идея создать машинный перевод для якутского языка возникла еще в 2017 году. Последние полтора года на общественных началах ведется сбор двуязычных русско-якутских текстов, подготовка эталонных якутско-русских переводов для оценки качества перевода», — отметил Иванов.
Национальная библиотека Якутии планирует формировать большие данные в сервис электронной библиотеки с целью увеличения присутствия якутского языка в киберпространстве. «Фонд электронной библиотеки на начало года составляет более 30 тыс. документов. Сегменты расширяются каждый день. Появление якутского языка в «Яндекс.Переводчике» сделает доступнее литературное наследие Якутии для всего мира», — отметила директор библиотеки Саргылана Максимова.
Якутский язык наряду с русским является одним из официальных языков Республики Саха (Якутия) и относится к тюркской семье языков, в которой образует отдельную ветвь.
