The delegation of the Primorsky Territory took part in the meeting with the Governor of Niigata Prefecture Kunio Mori in Tokyo, informs «Pacific Russia».
In the course of the meeting it was noted that Primorye and the Prefecture face the prospect of rapid growth of bilateral relations.
«We have all prerequisites for it. I mean congenial investment climate between our countries, regular meetings of the Heads of the countries, congenial investment climate in Primorye offering new opportunities for work of Japanese companies and, what’s the main, friendly relations between people of our regions» – Alexey Starichkov, the Director of the Department for International Cooperation and Tourism Development noted.
Kunio Mori told that the Prefecture is in the mood of dialogue. A cooperation in the field of energy production.
«Now authorized bodies of both countries negotiate on gas pipeline installation or organization of export to Japan of liquefied natural gas. We would like to facilitate the development of this direction in every possible way» – the Vice-Governor outlined.
He said that ports adapted for LNG carrier receiving are already exist in the Prefecture.
In addition Kunio Muni said that the Prefecture wants to make ferry line, connecting Niigata and Zarubino ports, constant and economically sound.
«In this context the Prefecture decided to prepare a special vessel which will operate in this line. The line will include not only Niigata and Zarubino but also Vladivostok port» – he noted.
Alexey Starichkov welcomed a proposal of Japanese party on developing the transport infrastructure and reminded that soon charter flights on Vladivostok – Niigata line will be again reinstated.
We remind that the visit of the delegation of the Primorsky Territory to Japan organized in the frameworks of VI Russian-Japanese Investment Forum.
The number of investment projects represented in Tokyo caught the interest of Japanese investors, in particular, the construction of a new grain terminal and developing of low-height housing constriction.
