Губернатор Камчатского края Владимир Илюхин поручил профильным министерствам разработать программу сохранения краснокнижных птиц, обитающих на территории региона, а также создать временный центр их передержки, сообщает в четверг официальный сайт правительства края, информирует «Тихоокеанская Россия».
По результатам мониторинга Агентства лесного хозяйства и охраны животного мира Камчатского края и регионального управления Росприроднадзора, в результате браконьерской деятельности за последнее десятилетие популяция сокола-кречета, обитающего на территории Камчатского края, снизилась почти на 400 особей. Камчатский край — единственный регион, где встречается кречет белой морфы. Поэтому на Камчатке нередки случаи селекционного браконьерства в отношении камчатско-корякской популяции кречета, сообщает РИА «Новости».
«Если есть закон, позволяющий наказать тех, кто занимается незаконным браконьерским промыслом, нужно наказывать. Однако хочу обратить ваше внимание на тот факт, что в большинстве случаев этому наказанию подвергаются рядовые исполнители. Очень важно найти финансовые источники, за счет которых можно было бы создать надлежащие условия для изъятых птиц. Еще несколько лет назад говорили, что не получится открыть на Камчатке центр передержки и содержания собак, но несмотря ни на что мы это сделали, и он сегодня активно работает. И я считаю, что необходимо сделать в крае подобное учреждение, но уже для краснокнижных птиц», — цитирует Владимира Илюхина официальный сайт правительства региона.
