О «волочаевских днях» много писали в советское время. В 1975 году в Гродековской музее Хабаровска была открыта единственная в Сибири и на Дальнем Востоке панорама, повествующая о сражении языком мифа и революционного эпоса. Однако только сейчас мы можем максимально объективно, не впадая в идеологические крайности, детально восстановить хронологию и фактическую сторону событий того времени, опираясь на документы, фотографии и предметы.
Дальневосточный историко-музейный форум – знаковое событие для музейного и научного сообществ региона. По замыслу организаторов, форум предложит участникам две части: семинар-практикум для работников музеев Дальнего Востока «Музейная кухня 3.0: Война. Патриотизм. Музейный взгляд 2022» (сохранение материального и нематериального наследия военной истории России. Как и что говорить о войне?) и научная сессия «Гражданская война в России: от изучения к осмыслению».
Если всё сложится оптимально, выставка и форум пройдут в мае 2022 года.
